Andreea Samoilă

Course: Situated Design

Andreea is a designer and writer. She spends time looking, picking the observations most interesting to her, and turning them into objects, spaces, writings, and drawings for others to experience. She has a bachelor's in architecture from Northumbria University( Newcastle-Upon Tyne), and now applies her spatial and conceptual understanding into projects at smaller scales, focusing on human-object interactions and the viewer's proportions of attention. Her thesis is focusing on the capacity of objects to become better through use, by employing in the design stage the material memories the objects will gain during use. After graduation, she wishes to launch a print magazine focusing on the extraordinary qualities of ubiquitous everyday objects, as well as grow a design studio driven by research making exhibition + editorial + object designs.
