Hi, I am Froukje, second-year student of Visual Art and Post-Contemporary Practice. I’m 27-years old and grew-up in a small village near the sea in the Netherlands. When I was seventeen, I moved to Rotterdam to study Theater design. After completing, I went to Maastricht and finalized my BA Fine arts in 2019. Within my object-based practice, I conduct closed systems as environments.Isolated from the outside, as a certain shielded place without all impulses, I apply new (closed) systems within predefined structures. This, to conduct spaces where materials are independent and can safely fail in existence. This, all connected to my own safe space as material: Water. It is really important to find an environment that fits you and were you can see yourself moving. Within this overload of different options, it is really important to figure what your own direction is. Trust your instincts, and ask all the question you feel like asking.
